The team at GEG is currently hard at work with our colleagues in Princeton reviewing applications from prospective 2014-2016 Oxford-Princeton Global Leaders Fellows. The challenge is particularly difficult (but particularly rewarding!) this year as we’ve received a record number of applications: 120 applicants from 41 developing and transition countries. We’ve been particularly impressed with the quality of the applications, with almost all applicants having excellent PhDs and academic track records, as well as several years of professional experience in academia or policy. As we shortlist, one of our main considerations is finding people with a demonstrated commitment to furthering the development aspirations of their home country, fulfilling the objective of the programme to contribute to the training of a network of scholar-practitioners who will help devise innovative strategies to enhance the value of global institutions to the people of developing countries.

We hope to finalize the selection of 2014-2016 Fellows by February; applications for 2015-2017 Fellowships will be available from September 2014. More information can be found on the programme’s website here.
