GEG Director Ngaire Woods joined leading experts from around the world to discuss Africa’s key challenges at a meeting organised by the African Progress Panel, a group chaired by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

Participants – including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ghanaian President John Kufuor, as well as thought leaders from the IMF, UN, government, business and media – debated how Africa can raise finance to generate inclusive and sustainable growth, covering contentious issues including investment, tax, remittances, and aid. The discussion was organised to inform the 2014 Africa Progress Report, which will be released in May.
