Senior Research Associate and previous Global Leaders Fellow Folashadé Soule-Kohndou recently spoke on BBCWorld's Focus on Africa about the 2018 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, where political leaders have agreed to work hard to increase Africa's exports of manufactured goods to China, rather than just raw materials. Along with Bola Mosuro, Folashadé discussed why it is inaccurate to talk about China's "debt diplomacy" in Africa, the need for exports diversification, and China's growing political and security footprint on the continent.
