Every year, think tanks and universities of G20 member countries gather to engage in an intensive exchange of ideas at the Think 20 Summit. This year, GEG Research Associate Peter Knaack presented the results of our flagship project “Developing Countries Navigating Global Banking Standards”.

Attendees at the T20 Summit in Buenos Aires discussed the findings of this three-year research project, and considered the messages of two brand-new policy briefs. Peter also met with regulatory officials from the Argentine Central Bank. Among other conclusions, this GEG research project finds that financial policymakers in the G20 can do more to incorporate proportionality into the design of global financial standards in a way that is genuinely aligned with the prudential regulatory needs of developing countries.
