Dr Zheng Chen, GLF 2016-18
Chen Zheng is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He received his PhDs in political science from the Double Doctoral Degree Program between Peking University (China) and Waseda University (Japan). His research interests involve the interactions between transnational and local politics, and the evolution of international institution/ norm/order. During the GLF program, he plans to develop his project on China and other major developing countries’ influences on the rapidly developing Responsibility to Protect (R2P) concept, treating it a unique opportunity to analyze the evolving global order and the emerging powers’ influences in this process.

I am looking forward to establishing close connections to Oxford/Princeton faculty members and students, and interacting with other excellent fellows. The GLF program also provides me with further academic training (formal model and qualitative methods in particular) and career development activities, which will give me a solid foundation for further research and teaching works.”
